Awwww, Once again! :'(

Mim has us booked in for "brunch" with friends on Sunday. That pretty much ruins the whole day for me.
I told if she keeps booking us in for "brunch" then we will have to sell the JEEP and get a discovery or something :o ;D :o ;D

The worst thing is that I've given the Green Dozer a 2" lift and pick up the new ARB front winch bar tomorrow.

Would have been nice to play with the new set up.......

Have a great day guys. ;)

The 2" lift with the Rubicon Express MonoTube shockers from WOODERS were a great investment. ;)
The car handles heaps better on and off road.
We camped up at Newnes over the Easter long weekend and tested the car out at Zig Zag and on some other tracks we explored.
Just AWESOME ;D

Will post some pics on another thread when we download them :D
Sorry for momentarily hi-jacking this thread :P

a fun filled day all accounts... 8)

BIG thanks to Casey & Bec for calling the run, taking pics and picking up the tail..

HUGE thanks to SteveT for his assistance & guidance... I hope it's the CV? (and not axle related)

Reg!! ..mate.. very impressed with today's performance... and the wife smiled the whole way..

Vinnie.. the 'Jeep Wheelie King' with the lil'sister as quiet as a mouse... nice work and great driving with another TJ... these new fancy smancy push button ranglers need to be kept honest eh?!

and my mate Luke in the stock XJ with worn tyres... do i need mention?! hahaha... ignorance saw him through all the way, and he enjoyed every moment..

cutting the video footage does take a little while, but i'll get stuck into it tommorrow night..
I'll make a rounded clip and youtube it.. i'll also make a high-res DVD for the club.. and those involved on the day..

thanks again everyone and see you on the next..

Wade

Hi All, just had to sign up after yesterdays efforts, being a passenger / vid taker has never been quite as fun as that.

Was great to meet you all, Vinnie, thanks for letting me jump on your car...(yep the rest of you will have to wait for the pic's)

Bec, thanks for keeping me company as I ran up and down the hills, trying to dodge jeeps and other debris, while attempting to document the run.

Wade, the amount of time & effort put into the rig truly paid off yesterday - glad you got to discover at least a 3rd of its potential ;D, look forward to being there as you discover the rest!

The rest of you great people, It was great to meet you, learn from your driving & experiences, and look forward to kicking tyres on the next one.

8)

The rest, awesome wheeling.

What a great day! :D

Just saw the video of Vinnie getting up on the rear wheels when backing off the rock step - that was awesome :D

Great to see everyone out there giving it a shot - especially newbies Reg and Lucas - you're going to be unstoppable once you get some muddies on that Cherokee!

Rebecca did an awesome job taking photos, they're all now up on my Flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/caseyg/sets/72157604428507649/

Good to see the pretty blue jeep nice and dirty, Why do the wranglers always finish a trip the dirtiest?

You walked up that ledge to easy mate.

So are you happy with the jeep or did you come home with a list of new mods?

i don't know if it will ever be clean again.. i really couldn't be bothered.. i might just rock up to the cafe car wash and take a good book with me LOL

is that a trick question?! of course.... rock skids coming, corner armour, warn tit winch, flatties, 38's, 5.7Ls1, etc etc etc HAHA!! ... for now i am content... it went really well..

It was comforting having the old brass (steveT) present.. you can't buy support & knowledge like that.. and seeming it's been a long while since i've been out there, it was very reassuring.. i tip my hat to the man ;)

the highlights were Vinnie and the dancing TJ, Reg and his senior wheeling and Lucas abusing the stock XJ..

hope you make the next one

brilliant day =) thanks to all for providing the talent for the photos... esp. vinnie... a trip just isn't a trip unless someone needs to be rescued… also enjoyed there was lots of pilots and co-pilots on the trip which makes it that much more fun =)

wade - awesome video (and to daniel who shot the footage!)… would like to see more of SJC on youtube.

steve – hope you’re car is out of the sick bay… and notice I got the “no hands” shot =)

luke – what is written on your bonnet?? wicked performance on worn tyres btw

some of my favs:

which blue one? :P

Rebecca was telling me that i went too fast up that ledge, she only got two photos in - before and after!

Always happy with The Colonel - although I think he's telling me that he wants some modifications done somewhere... managed to pop a few screws off the plastic airdam that is under the front bumper on that Zig Zag trip - also got a good sized dent in it whilst at Coffs too.

i think i'd have to side with you on this one Bec...

after all if you have traction tyres there is less chance of getting bogged and needing the winch, and with the added height there's more bar clearance... ;D

Casey, please state your case? :P

I got the MTR's first, then the lift, then the bar.
I now wish I'd gotten the lift before thinking of tyres. A nice set of 33's on there would be sweet now!

The HT's are gonna look very "pussy" when i put them back on! He He.

I side with Casey :) BAr and winch, then that makes the springs sag so you get long arms and a lift then the car looks awkward so you have to put 37s on it

Azza does make a strong point... not too far from the truth either LOL

casey
10-04-08, 10:32 AM
haha, yeah, but nah, 37's would make everything way too easy and tracks would get boring too quickly. thats why i want to get a bar and winch before the lift and tyres - there hasn't been too many places that we've been stopped in the 32" AT's. if we did get stuck at least we'd have a winch to pull us out.

Trips are pretty uneventful if someone doesn't get stuck - you gotta admit that getting others or yourself out of a sticky situation is half the fun! :)
