Hello all… just putting some feelers out for an ‘L’ s day – a trip out for those who are new or relatively new to 4WD’ing… Steve T has accepted my request to lead a trip out for us. I’m thinking Menai or Zig Zag depending on Steve’s preference.

To those who’s co-pilots are not on this forum please spread the word. I’d like to get a show of hands then choose a date/time/location.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Im keen to nominate cass for this one, she needs somewere safe to practise, shes a great driver behind the wheel of a V8 but gets very nervy when it comes to crawling along in a jeep :)

I'm sure that Mim would be more than competent behind the wheel. ;D

The question is ::), would I be able to stay in the passengers seat! :o

Depending on dates, we would be in. Great idea.

Depending on the date we will be in.

This is a great idea

Will be great for Bianca to drive on a trip like this.
Just have to ratchet strap me in the passenger side :o

When I first posted I said this was a great idea. :D

After the following conversation I now think that it is an extraspecialicuosdicious idea.

Once upon a time.

Me: What do you think about this Co-Pilot driving day that Rebecca has suggested Darling?

Minister for fun and finance: Sounds Great!

Me: You know that while you've been on a few trips and we've had great fun, weather conditions and terrain can change quite quickly and without notice. This can make easy runs quite "hairy".

Minister for fun and finance: What are you trying to say?

(After a brief tour of duty around the car, showing where the air intake is for the CRD and how the winch plate cover on the new ARB bar just comes off.)

Me: Well, it's just a safety thing. So we don't damage the car and so we can get out of sticky situations it would be a good investment to get a winch and a snorkel.

Minister for fun and finance: Well, if it is a safety issue, just get it sorted! I can't believe you haven't dealt with it already!

;D ;D ;D And I lived happily ever after!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D

PS:
CASEY: Sorry mate. I probably should have just PM'ed you this strategy before I let the cat out of the bag. Keep trying brother. I'm with you.

Disclaimer: If Rebecca reads this post then she needs to recognise that the Post Script [PS] was meant for Casey alone and no correspondence will be entered into.

And if Rebecca is still reading this (which I know you are) just come to a comprimise and get it all done. You know you will eventually anyway so why not get the benefit earlier than later.

AEV (not yet released afaik)
(cant embed the pics, so here is the link)

I'll be sending out a Club update email shortly so I'll include this day in it. It'd be great to get a decent number of vehicles along, I might even be able to convince my Bec to give it a go :)

haha Tentative...

the better half has driven supercars and use to be a fixture in the HSV owners club... but is not sure about the 'offroad' as yet... i'll work on her..

and if all else fails i'll put my man-friend DJ in the drivers seat (a SCARY thought given the way he offroads my racebike at the track!)

This an absolutely fabo idea and it will be loads of fun. Many many moons ago I did driver training when we were members of Suzuki Club .. it was great fun. I did a few drives here and there and then went through the ... I find it all too stressful stage. Mainly cause everyone was doing harder and harder tracks and I started to freek out a bit :)

If Mark's jeep were up to going offroad I'd come too ... but it needs a new clutch and there is no way I'd be able to drive it until that gets fixed.

Hi all,
I don't get the new roster until Tuesday/Wednesday this week, so I will post up as soon as I can.
Menai looks like the closest location for everyone ( does this mean a high turn out for the April clean-up ??? ) provided everyone has done a clean-up. The ZigZag as a second option depending on the weather if Menai has been closed on that day.

sounds great, Nadine really wants to jump in the drivers seat of my car. just having a quick look at our calander the 4th and 18th are out. so just post up a day and we will do our best to be there.

Marvellous idea! So do I get to bring my other half... err that is, I can drive with my left hand instead of my right!

Depending on the date I'd be happy to come and help out at the back of the convoy, but 4th May is a no go as we are having a birthday breakfast for mother dear... and you know it is very unwise to miss these events! Although its its Menai I might be able to join you later on... maybe...

So May 4th... Tentative I would say we're looking at the Zig Zag as there's some whom haven't done a Menai cleanup (unless we do one on the day?)... Unless there's any other suggestions?

...and just wanted to note - this one's not just for the ladies, even tho' we all know steve t looks good in a skirt.

...and for those who can't make it this time, i'm sure 1 lesson isn't going to turn us into mad rock crawling masters... so if steve's up for it again (and he says this BEFORE we go out the first time), we should do another "L"earners trip.

;D ;D ;D

As per the same reason i couldnt get to menai, the jeep needs a few running repairs after my trip out and about on saturday so i will be hiding in a hole for the next month till i can get some new mounts welded on and my currie all fitted up and the tj wil be back in action.

Cass is releived though as she felt i was pressuring her to drive :)

It was indeed a fun-filled day and an unforgettable experience for me. Thanks a lot specially for STEVE T for being a great MENTOR.

And for the rest of the group, who shared your experience and friendhip, thanks also for your patience... I knew you had to wait when my stock WJ was struggling and got bogged.

And I salute to those who conquered the Big Blackstone... esp the LADIES. I admire your guts and perseverance!

Looking forward for more trips. The Jeep Fever is in me now.
