Hey, count me in! I am interested in the suggested talk on radios and stuff.
Could it be possible that members can talk also about the logistics of other radios as I am interested in buying a fixed unit - preferring to get a second hand unit for now, and later, upgrading to a better CB, but I will be needing help.
The question is: doesn't one need a radio licence (pardon my ignorance)?to be able to talk on air?

I'll come along. I'm in the market for a radio.

If you haven't already done so would you please RSVP asap if you intend coming to ARB on 01/04/09 so that I can advise them of numbers who will be in attendance. This is so they can organise sufficient "light refreshments" to go round.

Bear.

Due to work sending me to north west Victoria next week, I am now out :( This would have been a good opportunity too as my UH-013 has been starting to play up of late!

I'll have to give my apologies for tomorrows meeting. I have to attend a compulsory work function (Airforce Week Cocktail Party) and doubt I can get away in time. Gotta love rent-a-crowd functions >:(

From my point of view last nights meeting was a success.
We had a good attendance.

ARB made us feel welcome, provided drinks and nibblies, had staff available to assist with sales and information.

The GME lady gave a very informative talk on radios and in particular the various antenas that are available to suit differing situations.

I hope that those members present gained something useful from the meeting.

Bear.

Yep, a great night. ARB made us welcome and the info on the radios and antennas was interesting and no doubt useful to many. Also good to get a decent turnout especially considering the rubbish weather.

Cheers

I enjoyed it (although I was a bit late.....) and got the antenna I wanted for the price I wanted...

They were very friendly and helpful!
