:mad::mad:Monday night I was Driving up Bells Line of Road. As I started to climb Mt Tomah just before getting to the gardens THUD, Shaking, Smoke, loss of power, splashing noises & so on:confused:, at first I hoped I'd caught a tree branch in the drive line but new deep down what had happened. But you can't help wishing.
The answer well it was a CONROD through the engine block. Ya it wasn't a tree branch.
I think it was damaged when the engine hydro locked swamping it at Newnes a little over a month ago. question

1) Is there any tricks I may need to now when doing an Engine swap?

I know something was not quite right as It was using more fuel than normal.

Should be pretty straight forward, I think there are some torx bolts on the top of the gearbox bolting it to the engine though but I'm not 100% sure on that or the size, trying to find out myself as I'm about to pull the auto. Oh, and bad luck on that :(

Cheers
Steve

Up & running. Bit rough Idle but I think that is cause by the broken dissy mount that we bodged up a clamp like on the old Holdens & Fords. Other than that runs smooth as & has 30,000 less km the the original.
