Would this trip be ok for a standard unlimited rubi? After all, it technically _is_ my wifes car, I don't want to damage her new Jeep.
A few years back I used to hate 4x4's since everyone I knew only ever used them for child taxi duties. But my wife thought they looked cool, so I bought her a new Nissan Pathfinder. My thinking was that if I had a 4x4, I should use it for what it was designed for, so I joined the TLCC, and attended one of their member training days. End result = two week old pathfinder, and 1 snapped axle. Spent the next two weeks waiting for parts to arrive from Spain/Japan. My wife was not impressed. rofl

This trip is now full and reserves will be taken, I recommend some sort of lift and traction control will be good, there are rock steps and ledges to get over but has been done by standard cars. Will be some banging and side step scrapping but there is easy way around if required but tracks only get worse with time so we will see when we get there. OLLY

Be ready to go at 1015 so we can hit the trails asap, will be there right on 1000 as late night finish at work the night b4, will probably not stop for lunch as there will be plenty of time waiting around for others to get up hills so can grab a bit to eat while waiting. OLLY

As mentioned at the last Club meeting, I'm interested in driving from Sydney to Tuggerah with a few other vehicles. There was a suggestion of meeting at McDonalds Thornleigh which seems fine. I'm not sure how long it takes to get up there but Mr Google tells me it's 70km. I'll throw an 8.45am departure out there and see if any wiser heads would like to adjust it somewhat. Steve T; any thoughts?

Usually meet at Macca's at Thornleigh or at the old Toll/Weight stop on the Pacific Hwy at Berowa Heights at 7.30a.m for a 7.45a.m departure in case of traffic and the need for some folks to refill fuel, then air down etc and actually get on the track and then finish the run at a reasonable time. Later start, later finish and if someone gets stuck, easier to get them out whilst there is still sufficient daylight, especially during winter, gets cold/dark real fast.......................

As experienced a few times in the past -having too many meeting spots tends to cause confusion and people missing departures and leaving people wandering if they should wait a few minutes more, a few minutes more ..........
Can I suggest that the leader set ONE MAIN meeting/departure spot at a particular time.
If people are unaware of where to meet, then post a request for guidance.

Olly has given a time for the run. I was responding to leaving Sydney as a meet point for those leaving here to travel in convoy to get to Tuggerah before set time to allow people to travel, at their comfortable speed, refuel,eat, air down, etc before the run. I will be leaving the old Toll/Weight station on the Pacific Hwy at Bewora Heights at 8.00a.m for the run up to Tuggerah macca's. Last to arrive does the trip report for Scott................

Bewora Heights is a little out of the way for me. As originally suggested ill be at Thornleigh McDonalds at about 7.45, leaving at 8am sharp. i should see you on the highway Steve. If anyone needs to contact me the mobile is 0425 202 570. looking forward to a good day.

Did a dry run up there this morning:confused: :) but got there in just under the hour with a little traffic from the toll station at Cowan. So will be leaving same spot at 8.15a.m, but on the right day:):)....................

hey Im am new here anyway was heading up to Ourimbah tomorrow just want to know I have a JK rubicon standard, will I have any issues on the tracks just taking it for a spin for the day? & where do you get on the track after you pull off the freeway?
Great day out on Sunday. 7 Trucks came along, (a little short on the numbers originally expected) but none the less a good variety of trucks. There was a variety of tracks, which I liked a lot, that tested every one who came out for this sunny and warmish Sunday trip to what was one of the best days I've had since joining the club. The terrain was varied and never boring.
Thanks to Olly for his guidance and local knowledge. I look forward to the trip report and comments from others and I think another trip soon to this area would be most welcomed and worth it.

Hi Guys,
Planning to wander around Ourimbah on the 13th of April with some workmates.... Just trying to jog my memory. Do we get off the F3 on to Pacific Hwy at Ourimbah, then turn right onto Palmdale Rd, then onto Wallaby Rd and into the bush....
Can u guys please let me know if I am on the right track or not??????
