Hi All

I have a Navman My50T GPS. Can we jailbreak it to show offroad maps etc. If it can be done in any way can some body guide me. Please keep in mind I am really dumb when it comes to electronics so you have to be patient with me.

If somebody can do it for me I have a case of beer of your choice for you.

Thanks in advance
Mani

I cracked (unlocked) my Navman N40i to run Oziexplorer and have the Hema Desert Maps loaded and running now. If it has a Windows CE operating system underneath the Navman application you can probably find a crack for that model. Have a look here first and read through this:

http://www.4x4earth.com.au/forum/gps-talk/1083-how-unlock-your-navman-use-oziexplorerce.html

Then follow the link to the unlock instructions:

http://navmanunlocked.wikispaces.com/Unlock

I don't see your model there so you might have to do a bit of net searching to find the unlock files.

Hang on I just found an unlock file for the My50T, look here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/329240754/NavMan.MY50T.Unlocker.rar

BTW you will probably need to add memory (SD card if it takes them) to load in the offroad maps. Watch the map file directory setup in Oziexplorer, you'll need to tell it where on the Navman it should look for the file (default is to llook in the Unlock/Program/ folder).

You can get Oziexplorer online, and you would want the CE version for your device:

http://www.oziexplorer.com/

Make sure you download the files that are for your processor type (that tripped me up).

It is a confusing process and not just one thing that you need to do. Its very much 'old style' Windows operating system and you need to make sure you have directories correct and Oziexplorer defaults corrected to your file locations.

When it works its great, you'll have two icons on your screen: one for the Navman application and one for Oziexplorer, and you just touch the screen to launch either.

I won't be at the next meeting as we'll be out in the desert.

Good Luck

Glen
