Everyone sign up if you want to come along, we can always split the group into two. There are pinstripe trails that not everyone will want to try.

So just to make it clear then Wolfe, there is no limit on this run.
We can split up into groups on the day to cover the trail ratings of all who attend.

I & anyone else that wants to, will be heading down on Saturday & camping over night.

OK I’m officially confused about the camping (but that is a nearly perpetual state for me so I'm probably missing something really obvious). The trip is posted for the 20th of August, isn’t the 20th a Saturday?

Yes Tony it's a Sunday. However I can only speak for myself but I'm going down Saturday & camping over night

Edit: Opps should check things first. My bad, but the trip was organized for the Sunday.

Well if the 20th of Aug is a Sunday then there is something strange happening in “Tonyland” because every calendar that I can lay my hands on lists the 20th as a Saturday. Lets not worry about the date for a second, is the trip on the Sat or Sun?

Might be a good idea to request that people post the day and the date to reduce confusion. I once turned up for a trip on another forum on the wrong day - must have happened before. Anyway my calendar says 20th August is a saturday.

AussieJK has suggested camping near the dam ?? Campers will need to decide their location, travelling down on Saturday to Yalwal ( Nowra),etc, and let me know so the meeting times etc can be added to the posting.

The dam is Danjera Dam. It is on Yalwal Rd not far from Nowra and there is a camping area right next to it. If you follow Yalwal rd on Google Maps you can't miss it.

It would seem to be a waste of time asking the campers to drive back into Nowra to meet the group only to have to drive back again so since it is already in the bush might I suggest that we make the camping area the last meeting point. How does 9am sound?

That was the original idea to split the group on t5he Sunday morning.

I will not be 4wding as I still don't have the ZJ on the road, but will be going down to camp Saturday & leaving early Sunday to head to work in the Mountains.

On a lighter side, I stripped down the Dana 60 yesterday only to find it has 35 spline axles.

This is the camping spots in yalwal. It's a good + 30 minutes from wombat flats but I think there are a few tracks we can explore there on Saturday night and then head to monkey gum on Sunday.
919
Or we can camp at wombat flats, but it could get noisy with bikes using this area.

Wolf your plan sounds good for Sunday, All please note thAt all trAcks in yalwal will cause scratches on your rig.
Happy to take a group up money gum while the other group does log bridge track.
920
For those coming early on saturday I intend on checking the creek access to log bridge and also to dusties/treeroot. Possibly will walk along 6 stager. Kev and I checked out the entrance to 6 staged but there were many fallen trees blocking the entrance to the rock garden.

Hope the weather keeps nice so we can make the most camping.:)

A 2 inch lift would be good (otherwise you will scrub a lot up monkey gum) but A/T or mud tyres would be a must for this area after the rain or the use of right foot will be required. Each time we have gone up this track it's different.

Unfortunately, my TJ is still with my mechanic waiting for a reconditioned ECM to arrive from the USA, so I am unlikely to be able to make Yalwal on the weekend. There is some small chance it will arrive tomorrow & can be installed, and then he can start to fix all the other things that were destroyed when the voltage regulator failed on the last club trip. I'll advise definitely on Friday.

Traveling from Sydney
Head from Sydney to south nowra, near the industrial estate. There is a maccas on your left and a servo.... Fuel up here and then head back north and turn left into albatross rd. Go straight through the two round-abouts and take the first street to your right.this should be yalwal rd. Travel on this rd for about 15 minutes until you start heading up a hill there is an old house to your right and a turn off on your left (this is also yalwal rd but it's a dirt road). Follow this until you get to the camp site. ~30 minutes.
Hope this helps
