I went out this afternoon to look for any suitable tracks off Bloodwood Rd, Fiddletown (near Arcadia). The tracks appear to have been made for powerline maintenance, but huge sections of track are locked off. Very frustrating - I can see the tracks on Google Earth, but can't get to them Surely there must be some accessible tracks between Dural & Wisemans Ferry?

This was about the most challenging (?) element of the drive.

But on a positive note, it was an hour on the dirt, and I did get my rope spooled onto my new winch for the first time, so now all ready for my first recovery. As I was doing this (winching myself towards a tree on a very slight rise), 2 bikers came past. I explained that I was just putting my rope on the winch for the first time, and one commented "but it's a Jeep, you don't need a winch". Exactly.
