----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Guys,

Planning a trip to Sugarloaf on the 11th December to have another crack at it. Meeting point is Caltex Thornleigh at 8am.

It's a B grade trip, but it's probably one of the easier B grade trips, as long as it's dry.

Front and rear recovery points are a must, and you're welcome to bring visitors along.

Brad, can you please put this one in the mag? Thanks!

Just spoke to wife and all is looking good, she's put it in her dairy.

I'll probably meet you guy's at the start of the trail as I may head up oin friday night and crash at the holiday house just up the road (well about 40 minutes in a CJ).

Will know closer to the date.

You may want to restrict numbers or it could turn into an overnighter. Remebering the RT4WDC guy's got back after midnight and we left them mid arvo.

BenC
22-09-04, 03:46 PM
Yes but we won't have Toyotas and Nissans holding us back this time

Dorzun

Basically it's up behind buladelah (not sure on spelling), bout an 45 mins north of newcastle. Well it will be if I bring the CJ.

Antz at this point I'm 80% on taking it and will know if I will 2morrow.

Chris, you know your more than welcome to jump in with me if I do take it, if not who else will give a fellow member a seat for the day that's coming?

sir_camel
06-12-04, 08:37 PM
i never knew it was so far to get there. Gonna be a big fuel bill week this week. I might have a seat Chris but can't guarantee it yet.

sir_camel

Was speaking to one of the Cherokee Club guys today and he said there are two Sugarloafs. One near Freemans Waterhole called Mt Sugarloaf and the one near Bulladelah which is Sugarloaf Trail. Which one is it?

Dorzun
07-12-04, 01:10 PM
the one near Bulladelah is the track we are doing.

try driving a 350 geared down CJ that far, you can actually see my gauge dropping when I'm driving at 100K's.

Cpage66
07-12-04, 02:42 PM
Well, I may have to work Saturday so my looking for a seat may be in vain. We've got a warehouse stocktake the 17th and I may bring everyone in this Sat. and Sun. to get a jump on it. Lots of pallets to get down, count, and put back up...

sir_camel
08-12-04, 12:56 AM
All going well anyone know an estimated ETA back in Sydney Town?

Saxon
08-12-04, 09:14 AM
I can no longer attend the trip

Got a million hours of work ive been paid for but yet to complete.

Make sure you take plenty of pics.

Dorzun
08-12-04, 09:33 AM
If we do the part of the track we did not do last time I'd say very late.

I need to be back in sydney by at least 6.30PM so I'll only do half the trail.

BTW Antz, will be taking the CJ due to this. I might even start heading up before you guy''s and meet and the end of the freeway as I'll save half a tank if I sit on 90 rather thatn 110 - 120K's.

Will try and call you tonight to firm up meeting spots attendee's etc.....

sir_camel
08-12-04, 10:08 AM
Seeing it is gonna be a very late trip is it worth thinking of meeting earlier down here? That might stuff your plans areound tho Brad.

Antz
08-12-04, 12:01 PM
I don't mind leaving a bit earlier if it helps, and I dont even mind sitting on 90 on the freeway, helps with a TJs fuel consumption too.

sir_camel
08-12-04, 12:37 PM
Is 7am at the Thronleigh Caltex too early???

Dorzun
08-12-04, 01:02 PM
Yeh, too early for me as I planned to try and catch up on some loist sleep and thought I'd get up at 7, have breakky and leave around 7.30 to head south to thornleigh or north for you guy's to catch me.

We met at 8 last trip, but there was a bit of stuffing around waiting at the end of the Xpressway for the RT guy's to rock up.

8 should be OK as long as everyones there and there are less rigs than last time.

TIGGER
08-12-04, 04:20 PM
well i'm gonna have to pull out again  - jeep is'nt ready for this kind of action.

Peter
09-12-04, 10:56 AM
I'll be heading up to Nelson Bay friday night, so I guess I'll meet up with you guys in Buladelah. What time do you think you'll get there? A mobile number would be good too for coordinating this. Mine is 0414 954141.

Dorzun
09-12-04, 12:49 PM
you'll have to meet us before there. We'll be turning up Bucketts Way ( I think) so maybe the road that comes out near the weighing station south of Karuah may be the beeter spot.

I'll check exacltley and put a post up later today. This is my 5 minutes of net time in business hours.

Dorzun
10-12-04, 08:48 AM
Bad nooz for me, I cannot go on the trip now :(

Have something on tommorow that I need to be at that's just come up, and I know if I go I won't get back in time.

Antz, I'll call you today to arrange getting the gps to you.

wiz
10-12-04, 10:36 AM
things aren't looking good for me either at this stage  ,
ie i probably won't be able to make it
Antz ... will let you know later in the afternoon :?

maybe we should reschedule , if at all possible
 run it the day b4 the "Stockton trip on 30th Jan" ,
drive sugarloaf saturday(29th) , camp @ beach saturday nite , stockton drive sunday(30th) .....
just an idea

sir_camel
10-12-04, 10:41 AM
I seem to have this effect on people. Any trips i have been on lately have shunk days before it starts. Is it still on Antz? I am keen.

Dorzun
10-12-04, 11:02 AM
Wiz, that sounds like a fanastic idea.

Still pissed I an't go tommorow though. Well I could but if I don't make it back in time Heather will kill me.

Antz
10-12-04, 01:08 PM
Arrgh, was looking forward to doing this trip, but the way it looks now we might be better to reschedule. The problem is that no one still able to go, has ever done this trip before, which is not the best way to run a trip. I vote for a reschedule. I think Wiz's idea is a good one we might get more numbers then, what does everyone else think?

Wooders
10-12-04, 01:52 PM
I'm now out.....
My transfer case is still in bits and judging by the rain I'm not going to be working on it tonight :(

sir_camel
10-12-04, 01:53 PM
Damn....i spose it makes se4nse to reschedule. But i was so puped for this trip. Anyone up for another trip somewhere else??

Antz
10-12-04, 04:50 PM
OK, this trip officially canceled. Will reschedule for 29th Jan. I hope no one will be too inconvenienced.

Peter
10-12-04, 04:59 PM
I was looking forward to it also, my air leak in the rear diff has been fixed and I was looking forward to being able to hear people screaming 'STOP!' this time instead of just that noisy compressor. All is not lost - I've organised a weekend at Shoal Bay now...

Jeff
10-12-04, 10:24 PM
29th may clash with the Stockton trip. Keen for this too!

Actually the Stockton Beach trip is 30th Jan .....

my thinking was:
to reschedule Sugarloaf for 29th Jan,
camp @ stockton / Anna Bay that night ,
meet up with the others doing the trip from Sydney on the Sunday 30th Jan to Stockton

Hunter
