G'day

I want to give both front and rear diffs on my 2008 JK an oil change due to lots of water crossings and mud, but I am not sure if I have a LSD or not. Could anyone shed some light on this as I will need to use different oils.

Also if you have done a change yourself what oils did you use?

Hi i serviced my diffs last weekend and was abit confused also.
The bloke at the auto one store pointed me to the penrite site and i entered in my cars stats and it showed me what oils i needed.

This is the diff oil it recomended for me http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products/manual-gear-&-differential-oils/hypoid_80w-90
The diff on my crd jk aren't lsd's, not sure about other jk's though???
Hope this helps.

As far as I know you can get LSD's for them from the US but I've never heard of JK having them from factory, or certainly not the ones imported into Australia. I think they are all just open diff's with traction control (apart from the Rubi's with their diff locks).

Thanks boys

I thought it would be a simple vist to supercheap, but once I started investigating, wow my head was in a spin.
Jk112 did you end up using the penrite?

Look up redline oils. they seem good but pricey!
