You would be lying if you have never dreamed of doing something like this, but uh commonsense and a low bank balance always seems to put a stop to it....

Hope you guys are getting ready for some low range action this weekend, have fun whilst i am working away:grumpy:

Cheers,
Matt

Geez give us a chance, it's only been a few hours since you posted it ;) As an aside I saw a guy doing this about 15 years ago, on the Pacific Hwy, going through Sydneys Northern suburbs. No idea how far he got before he got pulled over but I followed him for quite a few km's.

Cheers
Steve

While yr on the topic of towing stuff........

I have never towed anything in my life... always had a boy toy to sort out that technical boy beast stuff...

I wanta put a tow bar on my 3.6ltr JK. The thing seems to have some powers that I have not discovered yet..

What would I be able to tow?

a. Boat
b. Jet Ski
c. Caravan
d. Box Trailor filled with plastic balls
e. Jumping castle, fully inflated.
f. All of the Above
g. None of the Above
h. a&b if A is not a Yacht.
i. WTF why the hell do you want to tow all this crap if your going on a 4x4 track no where near the ocean.

Wow,
never thought of towing a fully inflated Jumping Castle - that's new.
the only thing stopping you towing almost anything is legals.
we have a member in a short wheel base JK that tows car trailers, but I don't recommend that to anyone that is not highly experienced.
boat, jet ski, box trail, camper trailer etc all good.
just go somewhere quite and practice reversing that is the hard part.
if you got a tow bar before the training weekend you have a go then with some guidance.

Ghost town? nah just busy working.
Funny thing is coppers say "Very Unsafe".
I would be interested to know how they came to the conclusion - although reversing it would be a 8itch.

No harder than a B-Double, Although you do need a Special licence to drive a multi articulated vehicle.
Unsafe - well it they all had electric brakes.

As for a Ghost Town? All I can say is "Life!".

The driver doesn't look like a "him" to me... maybe he should be fined for the way "he" dresses :excitement:

Every vehicle has a maximum towing rate AS WELL as a tow ball down weight. I doubt the jk is that high but not sure. Eg my wj v8 is max 2850kg
Its ilegal and unsafe to exceed these. Besides it would make a trip very frustrating
They are quite clear
Also if you pull more than 750kg then you must have trailer brakes installed
And we all know the jeep brakes arnt the best as they are

For all we know the driver had an MC/road train license and thought they would be covered by it!

I know I've though about this before, although it would probably go Jeep, horse float, camper trailer. Perfect for the overnight events :)
