Split an intercooler hose

So pissed off. Split a cooler hose in Melbourne last night on my way home. Left me in limp mode towing a trailer. Lucky I had some racers tape and cable ties and managed to do a body repair to get me home. Everyone with a CRD Jk go and put a roll of racers tape and some cable ties in the glove box right now ;)

There was a big discussion thread on AJOR (that I started for my son's JK CRD) about those hoses, and they are now available for the JK CRD from Samco. Just do a search on AJOR and you will find the thread. Hyperflow might know about them and stock them but I think they were developed through another Samco distributor in Australia (Williams Race Services on the Gold Coast).

Here is a link to a recent AJOR discussion on the hoses and it shows photos of the Samco hoses and includes the part number for the new Mopar hoses that are supposedly silicon lined:

Williams Race Services on the Gold Coast were the guys that did the CAD drawings for Samco to make the hoses, they might stock them as well.

What is racers tape and where to get it, my next mod is going to be the silicon hoses, Im pretty sure DBOR still sell them.

Rescue Tape is silicon tape and works well for that repair - it is sold in all the ARBs. You can also use Tommy Tape which is sold at most Bunnings. Really any Silicon tape will work.

Thanx, will buy the tape and keep in the jeep until I get the the silicon hoses.
