Good camping area near katoomba?

Hi Guys


This weekend i am taking a friend camping in the blue mountains (she is from Melbourne and never been before)

I have camped at newnes in the past, but would like to camp closer to katoomba, as i would like to show her the cable car, three sisters etc

We would prefer a quieter place that allows a camp fire, compost/pit toilets are fine...



Can anyone recommend a good spot?

Do a search for Megalong Valley camping...there are a few nice spots down there

You could try Murphy's Glen at Woodford as well. Ingar is supposed to be nice as well but it is closed at the moment.
