Hi guys and girls!

My name is Carlos, I live in Carlton-Sydney and I'm the proud new owner of a 2nd hand Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 WK 2011.

A sedan driver all my life today was the start of a new era. Driving out of the car-yard today was a buzz and I can't wait to hit outback and country roads.

As a semi-amatuer photographer I specialise in Nighttime Landscapes "Nightscapes" and I tend to go out looking for very dark locations with lots of stars, I've exhausted most of the bitumen roads in country NSW (slight exageration) and now find myself limited by this hence my upgrade.

I was considering the Wrangler, actually fell in love with it, but my wife took one look at it and gave me THE LOOK.

I haven't taken any photos of the Jeep yet but I will soon and share them with you.

Looking forward to participating in this community of likeminded individuals.

Best regards.

Carlos.

Welcome aboard. I'm sure the look was the common one we have all seen just before we get sent to the dog house. The wrangler is the best..lol.at least u bought a jeep
Hope you guys enjoy some daytime wheeling as its awesome fun and like some of the other photographers in the club it makes for some awesome photo time as well.
Hope to see some pics of your new wheels soon.
Cheers Jose

Oh boy! Another tourer!! Unfortunately you missed an outback trip in April - we did a Darling River Run from Balranald to Lake Mungo to Broken Hill, White Cliffs then up the Darling River from Wilcannia through Tilpa to Bourke and Nyngan. Lots of good photos taken, although I keep forgetting my tripod, so no nights!

We have a tour of the Snowy Mountains planned for January, and in the next two years or so I hope to run trips back to Cape York, and hopefully the Mallee Country down the Vic/SA border and also hopefully a Simpson Desert Crossing. All to be discussed, all a fair way off the bitumen! Hope you will be able to 'tag along'!

Dave

You can make the grand a fantastic and capable tourer. You just need a few coins. Let me know if you need help

Thanks for the warm welcome gents!

Here it is, taken last night in the Blue Mountains near Mount Victoria, just as the moon was rising on the east casting an orange glow over the bush.

"Dave" I'll be overseas for most of January 2014 but I'm definately in for some touring later in the new year once I've accrued enough annual leave that is. Thanks for the invite!!

"Steve" what are some of the basics I should be considering?
