Day 1 draws to a close we are sitting in Geraldton Beach Hotel enjoying the wind down of a long day. 20hrs & near 5000kms later.
Found the XJ even after the taxi got lost following his GPS.
Loaded up & headed of towards SBR Offroad to visit the organisers of the event.
Along the way stopping to do some shopping.

Interesting fact: Did you now it's cheaper to by a queen size quilt & sheet set than a sleeping bag in Perth.

Day 2:
We bummed around Geraldton a bit this morning having breakfast & doing the food shopping.
Finally we're on the road.
Stop time, leg stretch & re fuel. OMG $1.89l.
A quick stop at the Emu crossing. ( it's funny for those who know Dave hit an emu last trip & caused damage to his KJ). Photo op. I would insert my but it be forum is stopping me.
The coast up here is a mazing. We went & saw the Stromatolites & learnt a bit about them and their roll in us existing. Well I did anyway.
Then of to Denham, Shark Bay & Monkey Mia.
Camp SJC( dam can't insert photo) has been set up. A quick beer at the pub, Sunset on the West coast, Dinner, socialise with the back packers & now of to bed.
For tomorrow it's of to Steep Point. Most westerly point of the main land.

Day 3:

well after a lovely night with the back packers( to no availe) we rose early, packed camp & headed for Steep Point.
for those who don't know Steep Point is the most Westerly point of main land Australia.
WOW!!!
2510
Like any trip with me there is always a storey.
traveling in we had a slight delay, after about 40km of the old wash board roads Dave turns to me & starts to say I think we.... & realises I currently busy trying to bring the XJ to a stop in a calm & safe manner. AAARRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHH!
Result 2511

after a quick unload of the complete car. the spare was loaded on the bottom in the boot & ( which we where hoping was there [ should have checked that] was under the rear fully loaded seat).
luck would prevail it was, 10 mins unpack, change wheels & re pack was completed with team work in under 10 mins.

After that we headed out to Steep Point nervously with no spare.2514

Once arriving we had a walk out to the point2517 2518 2516

after leaving there we traversed around the point to where the fisher man " Balloon Fish" they use weather balloons attached to their lines & use the winds blowing in from the Indian Ocean to carry the bait out into the bay.

on the way out we stopped at Thunder Bay Blow Holes - Amazing!!! Dave has a photo on his camera of me all nearly 6.5 feet tall standing next to one as it erupts. Little Hunno!

From there we decided to head back to Geraldton for cheaper fuel ( at one point we paid $1.89p/L.) & really need to replace the spare before heading into the out back.

there is no service out there so no more info until after the Safari.
enjoy being in Sydney while we explore Australia for you.
