Where: Doyles River State Forest (approx 1.5 hours northwest of Taree)
When: Friday 31/01/14 to Sunday 02/02/14
Meet: Meet at Hungry Jacks on John Renshaw Dr, Beresfield at 3:30pm on Friday and depart at 4:00. (Turn right at roundabout at the end of the M1, then take the 1st left onto Kinta Dr and Hungry Jacks is on the corner.
Travel in convoy to Taree and fill up and have tea then continue on to Maxwell's Flat camping area, should arrive there about 7 - 7:30
Grade: C - steep hills, ruts, water crossings, mud, no chicken tracks, stock vehicles will be fine, no camper vans.
Vehicle Requirements: recovery points front/rear, recovery gear, radio, camera, someone with a winch would give me peace of mind.
UHF Channel: 15
This run is limited to 10 vehicles including myself (Rhys), family and friends welcome.
Itinery:
Friday - Travel to camp site and set up camp for the night
Saturday - spend day 4wding, explore some old gold mines, swim in the rivers if u can stand the cold.
Sunday - Pack up camp after breakfast, drive to Ellenborough Falls and check out the massive waterfall there, stop in at Taree to fill up have lunch the head home.
Bring your own food and drinks: 2 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
There is a open fireplace there so bring a frying pan or you can use a portable gas stove. I will keep an eye on fire restrictions.
There is also a pit toilet.
If the weather turns out to be to wet the trip will be cancelled
Bring a tent and any camping gear you might need.
This is my first time running a trip so if someone would like to handle to technical side of things please let me know, i will handle the navigation.
