I am going to run a trip up to the property on the above dates. I'm not planning on doing a lot of driving while up there as it's more of a trip to check the place out.

The only tracks I'll be doing will be those on the property itself.

I am hoping to get away on the friday afternoon but it's more likely to be early on the saturday morning.

Trip Leader: Me (Brad Lawson)
Conatact: By PM or mobile
Meeting Place: My house. (Mt Colah)
Confirm attadence by: Feb 17th.
Grade - D (i've not been there so cannot even say what the trails are rated as)
What to take - I'll put that up later.

Cool and make sure you talk to the better half and bring the kids. I'm planning it as a family weekend and will have a mate of mine coming with his three kids, my B-I-l is coming in my KJ with his little boy too.

I emailed Antz to make sure we could do it and haven't heard back but cannot see it being a problem.

I cannot access the site we chat with the other clubs from work and haven't had time to do so at home.

Nice 8) I'm interested in this, will see closer to the date.

It's good that we're getting so much use from the property straight away. Especially with inter-club stuff

Book a cabin in the caravan park at the front of the property :) Not much for about 50km or otherwise.

What's the go with the Key for access? Do we have one or is there such a thing?

Saw there are no longer bins or anywhere to dump rubbish either so make sure you all bring bags suitable enough to cart the rubbish out.

Steve F

Drop in at the caraven park on the way through and they'll give us a key for the gate, we just drop it back on the way out.

Shouldn't be too much rubbish after one night, just take cans and squash em :)

Nice one Brad.

I'll be there if my Jeep is ready in time.

I didn't update that bit. Those that said they where coming or told me they where thinking of it had done so by then.

But those that didn't respond by/before the 17th and still want to come should pipe up NOW.

I'll expect, but not wait for  , people at mt place between 7.00 - 7.30 then we are gone, you'll have to catch up.

Steve F

Steve F

It was a good trip, Brad did some exploring and we travelled some tracks I didn't last time.

Here's a few pics, none of the KJ though. The last page of pics has a video of the 'lux giving it his all on one of the climbs.

Track was blocked by a 'stick'

Did you guys cop the massive storm up there on the way home?

Steve F
27-02-06, 02:12 PM
Me and Chris had to leave at about midday but Brad and Tony were planning on heading off about 3:00pm. We had some rumblings as we said our goodbyes at the gate to the caravan park so Brad and Tony decided to get straight back to camp and head off as well. It didn't actually storm until about 2:30 when we were on the F3 so it wasn't too bad. I'm guessing Brad and Tony were well out of the campsite before it hit.

Plenty of cars pulled ovver on the F3 but we just cruised along and drove through it. It was really only bad for about 10-20 minutes anyway :)

As an aside if it had stormed in there on Sunday afternoon we'd probably still be there. It wouldn't an easy place to get in and out of in the wet!!!

Cheers

It hit the top just as we did, got in to camp as it poured down. Must be a record run from the creek to camp IMHO.

So we had a mad panic to pack as it looked pretty ominuos and like it was going to set in. I have a feeling we may have left a garbage bag behind though.

Steve did you grab the one hanging near where your tent was?

Forgot all about that one  the only good thing about it is it had no food scraps in it, mostly beer cans and a biscuit packet, still embarrassing leaving rubbish up there though :(

I'm surprised the rain got you before you got back to camp, Chris aired up and we connected swaybars etc before we left. Even had an icecream and used the facilities ;) It must have initially missed the caravan park as we were there for just over 1/2hr after we left you guys.

Would it be worth posting a message on the yahoo group to let the next group going up know about it?

Yep, I'll be doing that today :) Need to give them a report on the condition of the camp ground etc as well.

Thanks Steve,

I would have gone back and checked but I didn't want to get stuck down there without the right gear etc. I saw tony throw a heap of bags in the back of his and must admit I just yelled doid we get the rubbish and got a yes response.

I might make a run up and get it this weekend if I get a chance. Feel really bad that on the first trip we forgot the most important thing.
