Quick question, what would be the towing capacity for my 2011 JK 2 door, 2 inch lift. No sure if that will make difference. But any ideas on how to increase it?

Just been looking at this as well :) Happens when you go to the Caravan and Camping show doesn't it ;)

1600kg braked and 750kg unbraked, my mopar towbar is rated to 1900kg according to the stamp on it.

Sweet cheers Steve, so does that mean you good for 1900kg ?

I'd stick to the 1600kg but from a pulling capacity I guess yes. I plan to build to way less though, a quick calculation of my design so far has me at under 150kg for roof, walls and floor (Styrofoam fiberglass sandwich), then add the steel and basic suspension (couple of hundred more) and the rest of the weight is in the fit-out. Hoping for around 800kg or less.

The 3.8 JK's are able to tow 1600kg and that's all, Dosnt matter what the towbar says, get caught with more on the back, or worse, have an accident and your insurance company will wipe you.. and remember that's gross , don't put a 1600kg trailer on the back then fill it up with all your gear, that could add up to another 500kg with water ect. The later 3.6 JK's can only tow 1000kg. Hpoe this helps, Doggy.

By the way, that's for Shorties, the JKU's can tow 2300kg I think.

Hey Steve, we are looking at the Conqueror Commander S , I just found out the Tare Mass is 1350kg and the ATM 1800kg, so I am not sure what to do now.

They are very heavy there is a couple from the ACT I think that had either the commander or UAV490 and tow with a JKU. I spoke to them a few years ago at Camp Coffs as I really wanted one. They said it was really heavy to tow and can tell when it is hooked up, and it is really noticeable off road. Friend of ours from the Subie club is a sales rep they have a either the commander or UAV490 and tow with a challenger.

Hey Heidi, is that guy named Grant? He was the guy trying his best to sell me, the UVE 490 is 1900kg and the Commander is 1300kg not loaded, quick question how much does your camper weigh ?
Thanks Steve
