Hi guys I am a new member,
I want to fit a set of driving lights to my 2013 GC but because the standard HID's have a 5amp relay it has become a bit of a problem.
Can anybody please help me with some suggestions to overcome this.

Why problem? Fitting extra lights is independent from car except the trigger from high beam to your relay. Driving lights via Relay gets power from battery directly.

Apparently the 5volt relay on high beam in not enough to trigger the 12volt relay that you need for the driving lights.

Sounds hard to believe. I have had mine set up for years to a 30amp relay. no issue. Splice into the hi beam wire directly behind left head light and all should be fine. The relay needs very little to trigger.

This might work, 5v switching 12v, use the 12v output to switch a 30A 12v relay to power the lights

Thank you all very much it has had the auto elec baffled. The 5 volt relay to the HID's threw him a bit.

Thank you to Steve F your link was spot on because standard HIDs on 2013 GC run a 5v relay the only way it can be done is the way you suggested, thank you again as helped greatly.
