Going back up to Rydal on the weekend of the 12th and 13th of September to finish the on site track (other than excavator work).

We can't camp on site as there is an event on but we can work on the on site track. Planning to camp at Lake Lyell for the Saturday night. Might even sneak in a night drive on the Saturday night if anyone is up for it :)

I have booked my site, it's site 20, 19-11 are available and run down next to 20. The number to call and book is (02) 63556347

Looking for plenty of volunteers...

1. Steve
2. Dave G
3. Hayley and Steve
4. Dennis
5. Heidi and Brian (TBC)
6. Dru (one day, weekend TBC)
7. Will98
8. Andy and Charl
9. Dave (Doggie)
10.

Cheers

I called the office at Lake Lyell before I posted this thread, plenty of camp spots, so I'll call again tomorrow and let them know to put a few aside for us. So feel free to call and book anytime :) Let them know it's Sydney Jeep Club so we are all together.

Hoping to get some more helpers for this, we need to position logs and generally clean up the area around the track, even if you can just make it for one day that would help. Chainsaws and rakes are the most useful at the moment based on last weeks trip :)

If anyone is able to bring some empty barrels to Rydal for Jambo I called Gulf Western Oil in St Mary's and they are happy to supply free of charge. there contact is 1800248919. 92 Links Rd st Mary's . Just call before you turn up to confirm.
From the meeting on Wednesday there was another company in Cronulla that had barrels available not sure who's contact that was, Cronulla is closer to me so Im happy to collect a trailer load from them. My number is 0412267966 if we can get a contact. Someone with a truck would be great.
Thanks guys.

The Cronulla contact was through DannyR, he said that they would deliver a truck load of barrels to any Sydney address, but I don't have their details.
I'd be happy to tow a trailer up if there is an extra one...

Can I bring some mates with me in their 4x4's to help and go for a night wheel too. They all have chainsaws and rakes but not Jeeps.

Shouldn't be an issue, how many? Night drive will be an early one if it's on as they lock the gate at the Lake Lyell camping area.

Ok sounds great. I might do a trip with them Sunday. I'll have the president of my other club, Sydney District 4x4 Club with me too probably. So I'll confirm numbers but prob 5 vehicles. Will there be space to camp? If not we have keys to another camp ground close by.

You'll have to book camping as it is at Lake Lyell, no camping at the showground this time as there is an event on.

Hi Dave, I did mention I might have a spare trailer, it's still up on my property in Inverell didn't get a chance to get it yet. I will try the contact in Cronulla to arrange a trailer load, or if anyone would like to arrange a bulk delivery let me know and I will pass on the details.

Steve, I may be able to get a bobcat and bring about 8 people with tools on the 19th. Would this help?

We've got no plans to go up on the 19th (for track work) and will have the backhoe available on the 20th, so probably no need on the 19th, hope to get it mostly done this weekend.

I'll come up for the day on Sunday the 13th. I'll bring the weber, some rolls and sausages and cook lunch for the team.
I don't have a chainsaw, but I do have a reliable rake!

I'm going to be a bit later getting up there than first planned. Got to help out a friend in Sydney early, then will drop into the camping store to make sure they are still on board, then as arranged last night Lithgow Tourist Info...

So I will get there but it might be 10 or 11am...

Sorry

OK, I've made arrangements and as long as I can pack the truck tonight I'll be there first up tomorrow. Lake Lyle said to just turn up with you blokes and no problems.

So I have a leave pass for the full weekend. Can't offer much in the way of equipment. Drag chains I sit. But I Doo have arms and legs. See you there.

What time is everyone getting there - going to Lake first to set camp and then showground or other way around ? Thanks.

Steve F
11-09-15, 08:51 PM
Straight there, we can't setup at Lake Lyell until after 10:30 so probably just head over there mid/late afternoon. I'll get there around 9:00am I think :)

Those are only a few pics from the working bee day. I've withdrawn those that could raise some OH&S questions, cough, cough... I might send a PM to the attendees with more pics later this week.

Great weekend team!

I at least think the track is looking FABULOUS. Have to give marks to Andy, I don't know anyone else who was keen on shifting "the rocks". By the time I rolled up, Andy and Greg (probably the biggest certainty to not shift the rocks) were shifting rocks. Decision made! And_it_looks_great.

enjoyed myself in this working bee. Cheers team.

Yep the track is going to be pretty impressive after next weekend. Looking great already. According to my phone, which i had in my pocket the whole weekend, I walked 12km overt the two days!! We certainly put in a big effort

Yesterday as I was shovelling some dirt I was joking that my shovel was a precision surgical instrument... Upon returning home I noticed that it was cracked (!) I must have over-stressed the steel, haha. Being office-bound for most of my working life I certainly felt tired today!

I enjoyed being up there (and the girls did so too). Thank you everyone for your hospitality around the fireplace.

From the vid's I've seen on FB you all have done very well & should be congratulated on all the hard work.
Unfortunatley due tomorrow work commitments I've been unable to help.
