Where -- Mt Bonfire, Hampton State Forest, off Jenolan Caves Rd, Hampton.
When -- Saturday July 23, 2016
Meet -- At McDonalds, Richmond 7:15am for 7:30am departure,
or Shell Service Station, corner Great Western Highway & Magpie Hollow Rd, South Bowenfelds, at 8:45am for a 9am departure.
Grade C+. This will require Low Range, but modifications are not required. I will be leading in my Grand Cherokee. Good for an introduction to off-road, and a family outing.
Requirements -- recovery points Front & Rear, recovery gear, radio, (If new members want to discuss what they have vs what is required, give me a call. I will have 1 or 2 spare handheld UHFs), food/drink of choice, camera.
UHF Channel for SJC is 15
This run is not limited for the number of vehicles.
When registering, advise where you will meet.

I have a rear recovery tow point, I have the stock one on the front which I am unsure about.
I also have a recovery kit.

not sure about the fuel, but there are a number of service stations in nearby Lithgow. Maybe they have a web page?
very little chance if getting stuck, but we see it as good club practice to require the recovery points on any trip where we go into low range. If you are coming, please let me know a name & contact number.

Ok, thankyou, I got myself stuck in some mud today, so will have to do a little bit of work to the Jeep, I will tell you guys there or at the next meeting if I am not able to make it.
Luckily I just need to either try and dry the carpet or get new marine carpet in and clean my headlights out.
Jeeps really are built tough.
That is what I was thinking in regards to fuel at Lithgow and top up at the Shell.

I have updated the head post with those who have registered.
I see there is a shower forecast for Saturday, but only 1mm, so with a hot day today, we should be fine on the tracks.

Hi Greg, sorry for the late notice. My jeep is still in the mechanic regarding a re replacement of its clutch which failed during the week.

Gee what a great day. Thanks so much Greg, that's my new favourite track.
Great to see the usual gang again and meet new folk too.
I did have a few wobbles from the front wheels at low speed, so still have some issues to sort, it was a good opportunity to see if the issue was continuing in the field.

As usual, it has taken me a week to create & edit a video, but done now. I did spend some time debating whether to include one section, when John didn't realize that my DashCam records all movement, front and rear, when he relieved himself. He will be further relieved that I did not included that video!
