One of our favourite ‘close to Sydney’ day trips showcasing blue mountains finest spectacular surrounds.
Nostalgic for us - our first trip as guests and instantly hooked!

Mainly C/C+ trail with a couple of B grade pinch points... Good opportunity for any new club members wanting to ‘try a little adventure’ and of course the usual club suspects are welcome. Will keep 4 spots for new comers and 5 for experienced club members so 10 in total

Meet : CHANGED to Zig Zag railway - better phone signal...!

Time : 9am leave 9.30am

Grade : Mostly C with B pinch points x 2

Requirements :
Front & Rear recovery points
Stock Jeep if capable/confident driver
Recovery gear food/drink radio and camera a must sunscreen and insect repellent appropriate footwear •••full tank For car and humans•••• (water)

NOTE as with any trip off road damage is possible when tackling any challenge !!!
However you are with an experienced group that will guide you through any challenge....[emoji847]

Hi there are no ‘go arounds’ on the pinchpoints.... one is heading up the other heading down. Happy to have you join us and there is experience among us to guide you and assist. As with any challenge there is risk so your decision if you’d like to give it a go ... some beautiful landscape on this trip and the rest is Easy going..! So let us know Di

The Trailhawk should be fine. We had a couple of WK2s through last time and actually spent some time with Greg in his Grand Cherokee testing out the trail. You will need to drive the pinch points, but that goes for any vehicle.

Rod - the trips is Di's (Di and John).
You wont have any issue with the pinch points, other than maybe wondering if you can find some more. :highly_amused:

Just found out that I will be stuck out at a mine site in WA on 26th January overseeing a pump rebuild.
Not expecting to be back in Sydney until 28th or 29th so must reluctantly pull out of this trip.
Hope to catch you all next time.

I should know this week if it is going in on the weekend.

I will advise ASAP once I know.

Question though, will I make it through the pinch points if it isn't lifted? I do have Toyo Open Country A/T in stock size on it and QD2.

Having checked with a mate who said it shouldn't be any worse than Ranger Bob/Son of Bob, which I have driven, I will be coming along.

**UPDATE**
Good morning all - latest trip update

Weather
27c expected with 50% chance of rain not too heavy looks overcast possible [emoji939] storm
Bring wet weather gear - predicting a little mud!!!! Could make things interesting ....

Fire Alerts
There have been recent fire alerts but now down graded and quite a distance from us after checking nsw rural fire alerts and national parks n wildlife closures et al...!

So we are good to go as planned!
Anyone nervous of mud or down graded fire alerts please advise if you’ve a change of heart

Ok latest rural fire service is altert advice only - spot fires around all controlled
So we are going...will reassess at 9am at zig zag if any dramas again if any one is nervous feel free to wait for the next trip

Rich and Rod - those pics on the rocks at the canyon are awesome. You'll just have to convince people that no you didn't take the Jeep to the Grand Canyon.

Fabulous to see another great trip by the club.
