Hi all - trying to get some recommendations on reader / app combinations. My 2013 JKU doesn’t have any transmission temp data in the dash cluster.

Thanks

I use an OBDlink MX for my 2013 JKU combined with the Torque app for Android.
It's one of the more costly OBD tools out there but is very responsive and supports Ford/GM vehicles :smile-new:

I've got Torque App for Android + Konwei 902 bluetooth (generic cheap product) adaptor.

I use the Diablo reader, very happy with it

As a scan tool, Bluedriver is excellent for jeeps, about $130 on Amazon, app is free. It can interrogate all modules on the JK, ECU, ABS, TIPM etc. For monitoring PID's Torque is good, in conjunction with a generic interface, but generally limited to ECU PID's. I'm not sure if the auto has a separate controller for the transmission or whether trans control is by the ECU. Also not sure if the hardware exists for trans temp PID monitoring. I'd suggest searching ausjeep or US forums, there'd be a plethora of information there on the topic.

You will need to setup a custom PID in Torque for the trans temp, and it will only work in D or R, put it in park and it will report the coolant temp instead of the trans temp. Have a google as I don't have the custom PID settings for the 3.6 only for the 3.8.

I just use one of these with torque and have a 7" tablet mounted to my dash for GPS and occasionally fire up torque to check temps etc.
