I am looking forward to leading my first trip.

Don't worry, Dru and Kerry approve, and we didn't get lost much on the Recce last weekend. LOL.

I drive a Grey 2007 WH Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Where: Sunny Corner to Turon - West of Lithgow

Starting near Sunny Corner heading north through to Turon National Park and exiting above Capertee. Expect to finish mid afternoon onwards.

When: Sunday 7 July 2019

Meet: Lithgow McDonalds

Time: 8:30am for 9:00am - please make sure that you are fuelled, both the car and people, and ready to go by 9:00am

Grade: C Grade with a couple of challenge sections where a bit of spotting might be required for new drivers.

Requirements: Stock Wranglers and Grand Cherokees new and old are suitable. There is one or two short sections where the brush is close but nothing like the Watagans.

All Terrain Tyres are highly recommended as there is a lot of small loose sharp rocks on the trail. BYO first aid, food and water.

Make sure you have recovery points. If you have recovery gear bring it, otherwise trip leader will step in if necessary.

UHF Radio to keep in touch with your trail buddies.

This run is limited to: 12 vehicles.

Get on board this one team. We had a ball helping Ben Reccie it, and learned some new trails in the process.

It’s a good one!

Same grade but the challenge points are more interesting. You’ll love it.

As Dru has indicated, this is still C grade, but the route we will be taking is different to previous SJC trips in this area, and has a couple of challenge points that may require a bit of care and spotting.

Hi Ben,

Could you add me to this trip.
Just paid my membership, first run with SJC in a few years.
I have a JKU Wrangler, 3"/2" lift, 35's and the like.
Have not been for a wheel in a while so a nice C grade run to get back in the game would be good.

Cheers

Misfit, it is the trip leaders call on numbers - no doubt Ben will back to you. The trip has reached his cut off though

in terms of we we operate at SJC visitors are welcome to join in one or two trips before joining. Or you can simply join - it’s up to you. Keep an eye out as trips do get posted pretty regularly.

Hi Misfit

What sort of off road driving experience do you have?

And what do you drive?

I will add you to the reserve list for now, and will assess numbers over the next couple of days.

Hi Ben, would like to join your trip to test my WJ after that drama we had at Barrington Tops. Already replaced the left CV joint and wheel hub which caused the abnormal noise and vibration. Pls confirm if there is room for 1 more Jeep. Hope to see you at the meeting tomorrow. Regards, James Mac

Hi Everyone.

I think 12 is more than enough for my first trip.

Apologies to anyone else interested, but I will add you to the Reserve List in case we have a drop out.

The weather could throw some rain at us on Sunday, so be prepared with appropriate clothing etc.

When we leave the meet point we will be heading towards Sunny Corner, around 30mins drive from Lithgow. In case you get separated along the way, we will be airing down along Back Creek Road, off Sunny Corner Rd.

We have a great mix of vehicles and I look forward to making some new friends.

Wow, what a day!!!!

Thanks to all the drivers that attended. 12 cars in total, 11 Members and 1 Guest.

While it was disappointing to find the trail closed mid way through by the State Forest, for an unknown reason, we made the best of it and toured through some wonderful countryside.

The weather also cleared up and the views were fantastic.

I will run this same route again in the near future so we can all enjoy what this route has to offer.

Thanks to Steve and Lisa for being Tail End Charlie today.

I hope to see you all again soon on the trails.

Cheers
Ben

Ouch, where was it closed?

H2Micr0
08-07-19, 02:28 PM
Ouch, where was it closed?

At the creek where you ripped your valve stem off.

No obvious reason as to why, but conjecture in the group was that the creek might have been flooded earlier in the week.
