Hi guys,
The tracks at Menai are grade "C"+"B" grade options but there are bypasses around all of the more difficult sections  .
It may pay to remove the hard plastic mudflaps from your jeep and keep them for road use. They seem to tend to be easily pulled off and not cheap to replace :) or get some flexible rubber type ones. Also, a good torch for when it's dark( for spotting/airing-up etc ) & a CB (Chl.15 ).
See you guy's there. :D
P.S. For those that are thinking about it only, remember, it's about the only decent place ( & legal ) to do any 4wd in Sydney, so don't dauddle, drive it & enjoy/appreciate it !. :D
P.S.S. Guest's are always welcomed to attend SJC drives to Menai ( or other runs,) as long as the basic trip attendence requirements have been met e.g. clean-up's/ recovery points etc, and agree to the clubs "Tread Lightly" views/constitution.

Hi all,
All going well  we should be out by 10.30p.m.. It depends on how long people play in certain area's, related to their rig's ability( look out Mrs Outback 8) ), and the more time to go through parts, photo's, etc.
The C byepass tracks make for an quicker way out if anyone needs to head out early :)
See you all there :D 8)

P.S. ? Hotplate ? or ? sandwiches ? Any views for dinner break/ or drive to finish ? Little Jeeper's are attending remember! 8)

Wasn't far off it, just had to hit the tracks :) In our defence it was like that when we got there.

Prado hill was looking cool but it was after dark and Steve T busted a CV so nobody else was game to try it :( In hindsight I wish I had.

Not on that one Warren, after all my Jeep is "Plastic" however the steel bit underneath (part of the chassis) that holds the rear trailing arm looks like a beer can that someone has stomped on. I think it happend after dropping onto a ledge on a yet unnamed hill... maybe it should be called "No Warranty Hill" or perhaps it should be just out of bounds for KJ's without rails :?

You're lucky it didn't come off at speed, you control arms woul dbe the only thing stoppping the axle moving side to side and they dont do that very well. The steering must have been awful 8O

Great trip Steve, thanks for the night out. I went to the NRL final last night & I've got to say I had more fun on Sat night (good result for the Broncos).

All the pic's look great, my imac is so old it will not show me the vid's that Warren's got up so I will check them out at work. I've got some good pics and will try to upload them at work also.

This was my 3rd trip off road in the KJ & it was just great. I did get quite worried at one stage under the cover of dark, on our way back thinking I was going to tip over (To be followed by a calm SteveT & Steve F telling me I'm fine and just keep going) My ribs were up against the middle consol & the back left tyre seemed to be floating, with the front right still going down not a situation I've been before. 8O

While having my own fun & finding that I can get through stuff I didn't think my Jeep was able to do (I need muddies). It was great seeing the others get amungst it, SteveF, SteveT & Warren sure like to make things look easy. :?

To top it off the bacon and egg sambos my wife made for me to take for dinner were still warm at tea time :D :D

Oh, the side rail look a small hit & will need a bit of help to get straight again but better that than the bottom of the door.

Great trip

The trip was enough for me to get out the welder and take my rails off for stage II. Maybe you need to make up something more solid :)

Tacked on some outer rails to the original rails I made a month or so ago.

Rails look good, nice addition on the side. Yes, I do need a more solid rail but they will do till they break.

I'm having trouble uploading my pics to Aussiejeepimages.com, any advice. :?
