Default What size speedometer gear to correct speed reading?

    Hi there,

Was wanting to put 31's or 32's on my TJ but have been told it will put my speedo out by around 10-15% maybe as high as 20%... have seen you can buy different sized speedometer gears to correct the readings, but it seems to depend what gear ratio you have? Anyone know what the gear ratio for a 2005 TJ is?

Im not sure which of the two or if any of these is even correct? but this is what google seems to tell me :P

    4.1 ratio means you need a 36 tooth/32" or 37 tooth/31"
    4.56 ratio means you need a 40 tooth/32" or 42 tooth/31"
