    Default Changing Gears JK - 3.73 - 4.88

    Hi Guyz
I am about to change the gears on my Jk from factory 3.21 - to 4.56 - I have never been inside a diff b4 - ive rebuilt engines and messed with most other car parts - any advice before I start - or should I pay a professional to get it done properly and not risk
    cheers Hunty

The new gears will need to be setup by a diff place so they mesh properly, or they'll lunch themselves. The actual install wouldn't be overly complicated, but you would still have to get it to the shop for setting up

I can recommend Craft Differentials in Holroyd near Granville. They have done mine for a reasonable price.

preloads on bearings, spaces and getting the mesh right always makes me be careful with diffs.
Enjoy your new found ratios, a very important and fun upgrade in my book!
