    Default Transmission and T/case breathers

    Hey guys,

Just looking at extending my diff breathers next weekend (with proper fuel hose this time!!!) and the thought occured to me that there may also be breathers that need to be extended on the t/case and transmission.

I Have a 96 ZJ with auto gear box and 249 T/case and was wondering if anyone knows if there are breathers on this model and where i might find them

Yes, there should be breathers exiting from any trans/diff/x-case. I would look for any vacuum lines running along the undercarriage of you jeep and trace them back. I would be confident in saying that the breathers are probably very short and situated on the top of your cases, they are most likely topped off with a little clear/white plastic T-top fitting which acts to prevent fluids from entering but allowing gasses to escape. Extending these is probably not a priority, but it can't hurt to check them out.
