It would help to know the vehicle?

But they are all about the same. In order to remove the fan shroud you must first remove the clutch fan assembly. There should be a large nut holding the fan and clutch onto the water pump pulley. There are usually 4 bolts physically bolting the pulley to the water pump. You must use a special tool (or you can make one) to hold the assembly stationary by means of these four bolts. The tool looks like a large non-adjustable spanner wretch. While holding the assembly still, bust the large nut loose and remove the fan/clutch assembly. Then there should be 4 bolts holding the fan shroud to the radiator core support. Remove those four bolts and pull up (or drop down depending on vehicle) to remove the fan shroud and fan. Then you have to remove the harmonic balancer and possibly the other accessory drives. Have fun!
