Thumbs down ZJ Auto Gear box not selecting top gear or O/D

The auto gear box will not go into Drive, 1st & 2nd work & will kick back to first if needed but will not go into Drive or O/D.

Started after being stuck in a bog hole for a few minutes.

Last time this happen was it was a faulty TPS, replaced the TPS & reset the ICU.

This time I have replaced the TPS & reset the ICU, idle has returned to normal but will not select Drive.

    Ideas?

    Thanks Hunno

Does the ZJ have a separate transmission control unit? That's the first thing I would trouble shoot if it was an XJ...

Ok,this is correct as far as I know but I'm no expert. The front servo on the auto is only pressurised when in 'D' so it could be an issue with that servo. Have a look at this link http://www.scribd.com/doc/23066637/4...C-TRANSMISSION pages 13 and 14 (Section 21-14 and 21-15) it tells you how to check the servos and the possible issues, it could be something as simple as a blocked tranny cooler/crushed line stuffing up the pressure in the lines also look at the diagnostics from page 18 onwards (Section 21-19)

    Cheers
