Back lash
Hi Guys, I've got a 95 XJ Classic Limited seems to have a lot of backlash and feels like its coming from the auto. When i change from drive to reverse i get a fairly big clunk, just wondering if anyone else has this maybe its just a jeep thing, i was thinking maybe the chain in the transfer case may need adj
How long since you did a auto service and did you use the recommended Jeep Lubricant?
stick the transfer case into neutral, get under the car & rotate the rear tail shaft back & forward to rule out the the rear uni & diff.

The Auto was suppose to be serviced before I bought it so not sure on oils etc will be fitting SYE and new tail shaft with the 4.5 inch lift in the next few weeks will then get the tranny serviced, thanks for the advice guys
The auto transmission service is one of the very few things I get a Jeep Dealer to do. A full service is about $350ish but depends on model I suppose
