    Default Clutch noise

    G'day

I have an 08 JK pertol

When engaing the clutch, all I can hear is this terrible creaking noise (not so bad coming off the clutch) Does anyone else have this problem, and is it something that I should be concerned with

Have confronted Jeep and got the same old line THATS HOW THAT MODEL SOUNDS

If the clutch still feels smooth...then not sure. In my skyline I had two issues 1 the fork coming out of clutch was cracked and flexing 2 the cable was sticking somewhere and making it feel heavier than normal. Get someone to push the pedal in and out and get underneath an listen from where the noise is coming from.

Can it be the throw out bearing...... Check jk-forum.com .... there were a few JKs there with similar problem....

It does sound similar the ticking and the squeeling, but not the creaking when engaging the clutch.

    Hi Ash

I am no expert in manual transmissions on cars but rode a bike for about 8 years... Ur problem sounds clutch related.... Get some specialist to have a look at it.... Also in early JKs the fork that engages or disengages the clutch wasnt strong enough and used to wear out abnormally (Do some research on AJOR and JK-forum).... Get them to have a look at that and the throwout bearing.... If the Jeep is still under warranty contact the customer service manager of the dealership u r going thru and make some noise although in a controlled manner..... "Thats a normal noise" is just pure BS....

    Hope that helps....
