    Default Trip Whiny Creak 21.12.14

    Hi peeps,

Sorry for the short notice but I am planning a trip on Sunday 21.12.14 to test out some stuff and a quick day trip before XMas.

I realize it's last minute and being so close to xmas and all. Who can make it, fine, otherwise enjoy your weekend, Merry XMas

Meet up Richmond Maccas for brekky 0730. We will leave Richmond Maccas 0800 for Wheeny Creek, lunch and head home from there by 1400. Should get home nice and early for car wash and dinner.

Bypasses may not be available on most tough parts...... If you are stuck and cannot make it, it is an easy turn around back to RIC or be winched or pulled up. Damage is possible.

This is pretty close to Sydney. I'm out to test some new parts on the Jeep, take photos and videos, so could be slow going on the tough parts.

    Cool.

Yeah, I'm trying to get a few issues sorted as well but I'll be going regardless. Just up the road, easy day.

Played with mud the other night off Princess St, Vineyard. Only a very small area to play at now due to land release and "progress". Good fun and challenging however. Did it in 2WD too . The mud stuck on the Jeep like concrete! It was $3 per wheel at the car wash. Normally $6 bux will do me and do the rest of cleaning at home.

Forecasting great weather for Sunday, mainly a high with a line of trough coming in later or on Monday. Low probability for bush fire. Sat pic looks good too. 26c tops for Sydney but prolly 30c out west.

We'll be doing our Lebanese Chook Roll and Teh Tarik for lunch.

    Another Wheeny Trip Video.

    00:30 - Poor Dep Angle
04:15 - Tough without lockers, even with big tyres.
04:35 - Avoiding big tree helps

    http://youtu.be/rLQIBLS9Zok

Torque, Big Tires, Lockers, Flex, Rock Rails = Helps

large rear step/ extended bumper, low fuel tank = reduces departure angle, big time

Not so sure about picking the right line. I like picking the "wrong" ones, have some fun and learn more.

First registered vehicle to make it to the top on the day, according to campers there.. Yay.

After we made it top, one of them followed us up in a Hilux.

Three others were Tuff Trucks : two Samurais and one Hilux.

The track is very very rutted, much more than a year ago when we last went. I would say that it is B grade for sure with some A sections, possible toppling over and breakage.

Nearly had to camp over night as the Jeep spluttered due to fuel tank not venting, slight cavitation and vapour lock almost. Next mod: Fuel cooler.

Video to come when I'm feeling better, down with a bug or something.

    cheers
