Default June Long weekend- Deua NP

TRIP CANCELLED DUE TO NATIONAL PARK FIRE TRAIL CLOSURES.

Unfortunately due to heavy rainfall and road upgrades, National Park has closed off majority of the fire trails. We will have to postpone this trip to further dates.

We are planning to do a camping and exploring trip on this June long weekend. Anyone who is interested is more than welcome to join us.

    Our plan is:
Friday evening after work -leave Sydney for Dry Creek Campground. (approx. 4 hours from Sydney)
Saturday - relax or explore local area
Sunday - Setting off at 7am. Day trip out to Bendethera Valley via Dry Creek FT/Merricumbene FT (C-grade). Hike/explore Bendethera Cave (approx. 8 km return, 4 hours walk).
Monday - pack up and home

Where: Deua National Park. Camp at Dry Creek Campground
When: Friday 9 June to Monday 12 June
Recommendation: First Aid; warm clothes (will be cold); recovery points front and rear (just in case); radio; food/drink; camping set up; camera; rubbish bags; firewood, extra fuel, torches
Grade: C grade; some steep ascents and descents.
    Contact: Sean - 0424 188 997

    Note:
If you are coming down Friday night, last fuel stop is in Goulburn (Coles Express Big Merino-24hours)
Highly recommended - at least one jerry can of fuel.
Cost to camp at dry creek $6 per adult per night. $3.50 per child.
We will be towing our trailer but the campsite seems to have grassy spots for tent based camping as well.
