Default 2018 Planning - Scheduling some dates for SJC

This thread is to open for discussion on longer term planning across 2018. Let's get some trips into the SJC calendar early. No excuse not to be ready.

Happy for any discussion, suggested changes in dates and trips, and we are looking for volunteers. If you were thinking of one of these dates, that's fine, speak to me and we can coordinate. We are flexible, but talk first.

    Cheers

    Dru

    When
: Australia Day Long Weekend: Friday 26.1.18 to 28.1.18
Activity: Camping weekend, targeting families, (off road) trailer friendly.
    Grade: D/C Grade.
Suggestion: "Caves to Caves" Jenolan Caves, camp at Government Town (Yerranderie), Wombeyan Caves.
    Trip Leader wanted

    When
    : Saturday 24.2.18
    Activity: Family day trip
    Grade: D/C Grade
    Suggestion: Swing Bridge
    Trip Leader wanted

    When
    : Easter 30.3.18 to 2.4.18
    Activity: Camp Coffs
Grade: Varied but probably targets hard core. We are there every year so get on board the East Coast best known Jeep gathering outside of Jeep Jambo.

    When
    : Weekend 28.4.18 to 29.4.18
Activity: Camping weekend, targeting families, (off road) trailer friendly.
    Grade: D/C Grade
Suggestion: Mount Airlie diamond mine. Camp on the mountain. Visit the general area and Airlie mining village ruins. Option C Grade return via Turon and Sunny Corner

    When
    : Queen's Birthday Long Weekend
Activity: Camping Weekend, based in a location with services, access to comping site good for trailers
Grade: Varied, Possibly C+ and B
Suggestion: Winter and it's cold. But there are services for camping at Coolendel in Yalwal. Let's see if we can rustle up some SJC-ers down the south coast to take us on some trips, and gather for warmth around the fire at night.

When: October Long Weekend 29.9.18 to 1.10.18 TBC - setting this weekend aside for Grease Monkey.

    Hi Dru,

Got my Snowy Trip at start of January. Also there is the 4WD Assn "Jambo" near Batemans Bay 29 March to 2 April - for anyone that doesn't want to go to Coffs... I'm planning a trip with Wayne and Julie for July 2018, details at end of this year.

Think we were suggesting October long weekend 2018 for Grease Monkey?

    Hope that helps,
    Dave

Jose, hope you had fun at Wheeney Creek. Love that track.

mate, Batemans Bay “Jambo” by recollection is largely being run by triple diamond. I’ll get back to you, but I’m sure they would appreciate a knowledgeable volunteer. Just dont expect them to have the same concept of gradings. :-)

I think we can lock Grease Mo key to the October long weekend next year at Watagans.

    Stay in touch!
