what I was looking at was lights directly in front of the flares, there's plenty of room to mount them, but I was told that lights can't be mounted wider than the vehicles headlights, being a JK, I thought I might be able to get around this if true?, living where I am I need better lighting just to get to work, dodging roos, it's just a matter of time before I smack one.

You can just cross focus them to gain the spread your looking for
