    Default Mt Baal Bone, Short Notice Saturday 16/01/2021

    Where: Baal Bone - between Capertee and Lithgow, Great Western Hwy.

    When: Saturday 16th January

    Meet: Zig Zag Railway (Clarence - Old bells line of road)

    Time: Meet 9:00 am for 9:30 am departure.

    Grade: C grade mostly, with 2 pinch points – one on the climb, one on the descent which can be tricky side of B
    Contact - Stephen T. 0412-707903.
    Requirements:



    • Stock Jeeps should be fine on this trip.
    • Front & Rear rated recovery points are mandatory.
    • Recovery gear – Please bring it if you have it. Though we will have some gear available if someone is new to the club and not fully geared up yet.
    • Hand held radio minimum
    • Please be fuelled and fed for departure. We don’t stop for fuel, you want to be full at the meet up point.
    • Food and water – we are aiming to stop at a lookout for lunch.
    • Camera
    • Sunscreen / Insect repellent/ appropriate footwear

    This run is on short notice as I managed to get tomorrow off work. The run is open to visitors.....

    Hey Steve,

    I have been to Baal Bone track with some friends late November, following a trail we took with the club 1.5 years ago and unfortunately most of the track has been graded following the bush fires and not many pinch points remain. At the beginning there is only part of the rocky bit at the top, and the big rock at the end have been covered I guess with dirt

    There may few tracks left off the main one but not the typical route

    Hi there Stevet,
    Curious if you went up on the Saturday 16th and if so how was the run / track?
    I was planning on doing a run up there and that way on Sunday..

    Hi Ryan,
    Yes I went up there on Sunday and as Khaled stated , it’s been graded... Easy run now... I returned via the swamp trail which is before the final descent at the end of the trail as I had not done that track before and again it was a C grade trail...
