Slight smell in my XJ - pollen filter change?

Hi all!
I have got a slight (damp) smell in my XJ. It seems (?) stronger after using the AC so I'm thinking that the cabin / coupe / pollen filter (what ever it's called) may need to be replaced?!

All the carpets seems dry and I have never seen any water stains or so. I also had a chat to the local service garage, they said that it may be that the filter needs to be replaced or that a AC system disinfection could also be needed.

- Do you guys have any experience from a disinfection if an AC system?
- Have you ever replaced a pollen filter and still had a smell if all the carpets are dry... ?
- Ever changed the filter your self, is it easy to do?
