The Sydney JP Four Wheel Drive Club Inc. (SJC) is dedicated to providing an online meeting place for SJC Club Members and their guests.

As part of SJC's ongoing commitment to preserving the good nature of this club, you are required to agree to abide by our Community Conduct Code. Your commitment to this code in all areas of the SJC Forum - these include: forums, private messages, email services, and/or any other message or communication facilities - is designed to ensure a positive experience for all of our users, without exception.

The SJC reserves the right to ban a user at any time, without notice, from any or all SJC Forums for offences relating to disruption of others.

The use of inappropriate or offensive language is not permitted on SJC Forums. Inappropriate or offensive language includes, but is not limited to, any language or content that is sexually oriented, sexually suggestive or abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, profane, hateful, or that contains racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable material of any kind. We ask that you please be considerate to other members in the Forum when posting your messages.

We encourage every user to treat every other user with mutual respect. Do not use the SJC Forum to threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse others participating in any discussion. Refrain from all expressions of bigotry, racism, hatred, or profanity. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of punctuation characters or symbols to simulate swearing.

The SJC Forum is designed to be accessed by people of all ages, including children. Foul language will not be tolerated.

SJC does not tolerate disruptive activity online, such as persistent off-colour comments and postings or statements that incite others to violate this Community Conduct Code or participate in illegal activities.

If you are in doubt as to whether the content you wish to post is appropriate, please contact one of the Moderators who can advise you on the issue. You can contact us via email at

Managers and/or Moderators who manage the SJC Forum may eject or ban users, as well as remove postings that violate this Community Conduct Code.

The following strict penalties will apply for personal attacks made by members towards any other member of the forum. This includes, but is not limited to, character assasination, threats of violence, intimidating language, personal insults and calling each other names.

first offence = written warning
second offence = one week ban
third offence = lifetime ban (by both IP address and email)

If you feel that someone has broken this rule, do not retaliate. Rather, inform a moderator, or email

Leave it for the moderators to sort out - most enquiries will be handled within a 24 hour period.

Enforcing this rule is at the discretion of the forum moderators. If you feel that you have been unfairly dealt with, email us.

The same rules apply to private messages as apply in the forum area. Do not abuse the Private Message system in any way. It is not there to provide an avenue for 'off the record' harassment. Complaints received about Private Messages will be dealt with in the same manner as complaints received from the general forum.

While the SJC encourages the use of usernames within our community, members who sign up with names that contravene the above rules on harassment and profanity will be asked to change them.

Likewise, people whose avatars break the rules on profanity or harassment will be asked to remove them.

Setting up more than one user account for the SJC forum is against the rules. The creation of multiple accounts will result in the removal of all of those accounts from the SJC Forum, and the creator of those accounts will be asked not to return. Please be aware that all IP addresses of people posting are logged - we can tell who you are and where you are posting from at all times.

A limit has been set on the size of people's signatures. Please endeavour to keep your signature as short as possible, and please refrain from posting images within your signature. This is to assist members with slower connections - please be considerate.

No SPAM - No Selling - Except in the 'For Sale' Forum.

Please don't "SPAM" through the SJC Forum; no one likes it. You don't, so it's fairly obvious that our users don't either. To SPAM includes sending identical and irrelevant submissions to many different Forum areas. Usually such postings have nothing to do with the particular topic of the group or are of no real interest to those on the mailing list. To SPAM also includes misrepresenting the source of anything you say or post. Spamming is a serious violation of online etiquette.

The SJC reserves the right to ban a user at any time, without notice, from any or all Forum areas for spamming.

The SJC Forum areas are not designed to be used as a mechanism for operating your business or providing core information about your business. You may use the 'For Sale' area of the SJC Forum to assist with private sales of goods between members.

Any use of the SJC Forum for commercial purposes is solely at your own risk and SJC has no liability for such use. Advertisements outside these guidelines may be removed without notice.

If one of your fellow forum members requests information, please provide that information to the best of your knowledge in a polite and friendly fashion. If that forum member has created a thread and they have specifically asked for it to stay on topic, please refrain (where possible) from dragging it off topic... This isn't to say that you can't have fun here - just bear in mind that if someone is after some proper information, they should be entitled to have their query heard and answered in the shortest possible time.

Please also be aware that posting messages in ALL CAPS, all italics or all bold is considered bad etiquette... please refrain from doing so.

Remember that you are responsible for anything you say or post.

Some Forum posts may provide Internet website links in their area. Please be advised that the SJC is not responsible for the content on the websites associated with the links you may view.

Some content and links on the Internet may contain adult content and may not be suitable for children. Please do not post links of that sort to this Forum. Any user found to be doing so will be banned.
