Steve, does your pinchweld seam run flush from front to back or does it taiper in at the back? on my xj it taipers in under the back door about 10mm difference?

Anyway ill work it out, thanx again Steve, gives me a good idea on how to finish the side steps. ill post more pics up when i finish.
It tapers in, I tacked the sliders together with them help in position with clamps etc to account for the taper.Originally Posted by NT-Boy

Finished welding the steps on the Rock rails tonite
This is the arc that im using, its 100 years old but it still works!
finished tonite welding the 4 x legs, ( cut too size & welded plats on them!) 2 x for each rock rail!
tomorrow will finish the frame, then ill give it some good coats of piant!!!
Finished making the rock rails tonight.
Now i need to Grind down some welds, before i start painting!
Painted the rock rails.
I used Black Epoxy Gloss Enamel Paint, this will help with future rust on the frame and welds, no i didnt use stainless steel welding rods next project i will.
They look the goods!
THANX MATE Not that hard to make. The only problem i have is that i like this welding business
Finished putting the Rails on the XJ! Thank God
Now i just hope there strong enough for the trails!
