DIESELCON - DC Mk 2 - 2015 WK2 CRD 33" ATR's on 17" sevens, 2" lift & 2000 TJ on 35's beadlocks
Looking forward to it. See you at Albion Park.
Jose, I’ll meet you down there on the tracks. I’ll most likely head in Yerriyong Rd down the powerlines, up through telegraph corner, turn right and meet you on the corner of Deans Gap and Yalwal Rd. I’ll aim to be there before mid day
Awesome trip guys. Big thanks to Dru & Kerry for setting it up and to Jose for leading the way. Some great tracks and great driving by everyone. Bit of excitement towards the end when we found Johnny who had rolled his 76 Cruiser on Monkey Gum. The Jeep crew jumped in and help the guys right the Cruiser then escorted the shaken guys back down safely. Awesome effort!!
How did you go getting home Dru, did the gearbox make it?

Crumbs, I'd forgotten about the bloody gearbox lol. Mudmagnet was a mess on the ride out from Monkey Gum - had a really uncomfortable run out on my first experience leading a night trip
Jose led the charge, we spent the morning investigating what was wrong. Among other things the front trackbar bracket was found to be freshly snapped. Don't know why, we didn't really do anything. Jury repairs to get the rig mobile enough to find help in Nowra - found! (Thanks again Jose) JOSE'S Czech mates Jerry and Peter (and their OTT JK on 40" tyres). AND found that the bracket was in pieces and mostly pretzel from OLD breaks. That trackbar hasn't been working well for a long time. AND looking over the rig this Czechpower was unhappy with the suspension set up (not leaving my driveway like that!). Incredible learning afternoon with JK genious <Jose, Jerry and Peter> as we ended doing a nut and bolt review of the suspension setting and more-or-less rebuilding what could be done on the spot. AND Kerry has a list an arm long of things to do to finally tune the rig. We are going to be very busy, more than expected getting ready for the Simpson.
Of course also getting Mudmagnet fit to make the drive home.
What goes round comes round - the awesome work by the Chain Gang rescuing and providing moral support to some novices on Monkey Gum came back to us in spades today. What a crew the Jeep world are, hats off to Jose's Yalwal 4WD OffRoad and all the contacts and supporters from the south coast.
PS: I will no longer dream of 37's. It will be 40" (or maybe 42"), long arms, coil overs etc etc. [And definitely 100% Synergy.]
PPS: Rod, repeat the following words, right hand on Bible, do it now "Verily I will never repeat the following words, said without wisdom on the MidEarth trail 'Yeah sure it's been easy, until we meet around the next corner a dual cab Hilux with P Plates.' " Too close as predictions go for my mind.
PPPS: Awesome work Jose, Rod, John and Di, Brenton and Hudson. The Chain Gang was all about comfort levels and understanding that everyone has them and where their head is is the place you have to support. Didn't expect to have to use this principal to help others - I assure you it was not planned. The positive chatter, friendly support, willing to help, complete refusal to do anything other than "these guys are coming out with us". Proud moments for the SJC. Amazing lead by Jose and Rod. I guessing we all learned more than anticipated.
A heart felt THANKYOU!
